There are approximately 8.6 million disabled people in the UK and around 13% of the UK’s workforce is registered disabled.
Under the Disability & Discrimination Act 1994 (DDA), property owners who provide services to the public from their premises have a duty to take reasonable steps to remove, alter or provide a reasonable means of avoiding a physical feature which makes it unreasonably difficult or impossible for disabled people to make use of the services.
Our Service
For an existing property, one of our experienced DDA specialists would initially carry out a Design Survey of the premises. This is then followed by an Access Audit where, upon completion, we will advise on the Clients duties and responsibilities. Where necessary, we are able to arrange for the removal or alteration of any obstacle in order to ensure full compliance with the Act.
Access Audit
An Access Audit by one of our DDA specialist auditors will ensure that you are aware of all of your responsibilities and options under the Disability Discrimination Act and that you act within your legislative boundaries.
Design Audit
A Design Audit can be undertaken in connection with new buildings. Similarly, we offer advice in connection with matters relating to disabled employees and provide assistance with the preparation and setting up of employment policies with due consideration to DDA 1994.
Associated Services
When combined with our Contract Administration and Project Management services, we are able to provide a comprehensive package of services from initial assessment to completion.
